THE MOST ACCURATE 300WSM I HAVE FIRED!!! THE MORE I SHOOT THE 300 WSM ROUND THE MORE IMPRESSED I BECOME. I HAVE USED 180 GR BARNES MRX BULLETS TO TAKE EVERYTHING EXCEPT AFRICAN DANGEROUS GAME AND BROWNIES.....WITH ONE SHOT KNOCK DOWNS IN JUST ABOUT EVERY WIND CLIMATE CONDITIONS OUT TO 340 YDS!!! THIS RIFLE AND BULLET COMBO IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED!! THE RECOIL FROM THE WSM IS SO MUCH LESS THAN THE 300 WIN MAG THAT IT CAN BE A FAMILY HUNTING RIFLE IF ONLY ONE RIFLE CAN BE HAD....CANNOT GO WRONG

I recently purchased a tikka w/laminated stock. After 25 years of buying/trading rifles I must say this is one of the most accurate rifles I've had. Under 1 in. groups @ 100 yards consistently with 180 grainers. Took a whitetail with it this year, unbelievable internal damage, deer dropped instantly at a distance of about 80 yds. Possibly too much gun for whitetails. I can't imagine wanting more except maybe for the big bears. Recoil less than 300 win. mag. I predict a bright future for this calibre .

I purchased a kimber 300wsm. and used in on a dall sheep / caribou hunt. The round work tremendous with 180gr. I moved to a 200gr. swift a-frame for grizzly this coming may. I forsee no problem with this gun taking down a griz with a well placed shot in it's tracks. mw

I purchased the Browning Safari grade chambered in the 300 wsm and it is the most finiky rifle I own. I have loaded over 30 powder and bullet combinations and the only bullets that group under 1 inch at 100 yards are the Barnes solid copper bullets in 130gr and the 150gr.Sierra and noslers always had a flyer no matter how slow or fast I started them. The barnes will not group either when a max load is reached. The 130gr can be pushed to 3200fps maximum before it too produces flyers. This round is capable of better than 3400 fps in some rifles but not the browning bar. Another hunting buddy owns the same rifle and the only difference is the scope that is mounted on his. We both have the exact same problems with load - bullet combinations in this caliber.Don't get me wrong as I have taken several whitetails and a large bull moose with the browning and everything hit with the barnes bullets so far dropped in their tracks graveyard dead. Just wish I could attain the performance the round is capable of. If I get to go back to Alaska again rest assured the browning bar will stay in the safe and my browning A Bolt in 338winmag will be my companion. I knew I should have bought a bolt action as they almost always out perform the semiautos but hey at least I tried. Expensive rifles are not always the most accurate.
