Stay away from this gun.............. Bought a 12 ga for sporting clays and after 6 months the firing blocks wore down enough to cause misfires. Sent it in to warranty and all they do is shoot it 10 times and say it works for them ] sent it back [ and the say response. Poor quality poor service. Could fix it myself but they have do parts to sell.

Stevens 512 Gold Wing Great Shotgun Great Price

I bought a nickel-finished version in 20-gauge about 6 months ago and have been using it for skeet shooting. I have had zero FTF and consistently break 20-22/25 ]the misses are just me and not the gun[. The fit and finish are excellent for the price and the only negative thing I noticed was a tight breaking action which is not uncommon with most new over/under guns. I have fired about 600 rounds through it so far and zero complaints ]except for those missed birds[. The break action is getting looser and I would buy another in a minute. Now I just need to convince my wife on that....

MODEL 512 GOLD WING AND MODEL 512 GOLD WING SILVER EDITION

I PURCHASED A SILVER EDITION FOR MY SON 20 GUAGE FOR PRIMARILY BIRD HUNTING GROUSE AS WE GO YRLY AND USUALLY ONLY FIRE 30 SHELLS PER YR THROUGH IT I ALSO WAS IMPRESSED BY IT SO I BOUGHT MYSELF THE BLACK 512 GOLD WING AND LOVE IT. I DONT PLAN ON USING IT FOR SKEET SHOOTING OR FOR FIRING HUNDREDS OF SHELLS THROUGH IT ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR ME IT IS A GREAT FIT FOR THE MONEY FOR WHAT I NEED TO USE IT FOR. FOR THOSE HIGH PRICED OVER AND UNDER GUN LOVERS THAT ALWAYS WANT TO SLAMN THE LOWER PRICED OVER AND UNDERS LIKE THE STEVENS 512 IT DOES WHAT WE WANT TO FOR US OCCAISONAL BIRD HUNTERS JUST FINE

Had this 12 ga gun a year and just bought a 20 gauge because I found the engineering nearly perfect. Great gun never misfired yet. I shoot twice a week probably two cases a month of shells. The twenty was on sale at dicks for an unbelievable price. Dicks features them with the silver nickel receiver. Thanks Dick's!

I purchased the Saveage Stevens 512 12 gauge over and under Silver edition this last summer. I started just using it to practice shooting clay pigeons, and I think I had one misfire, but was using cheap ammo. At first I was not to impressed with it, but now that I have had a full season of pheasant hunting, I am really happy with it. No misfires or any other problems during the season. I have gotten a lot more comfortable with it.
I know its not a browning or beretta, but I could not afford that qaulity without freaking the wife out. The savage has proved to be a great alternative and looks good to.

Stevens 512 Gold Wing Over/Under

Fresh out of the box, failed to fire after 15 rounds. Shot another 20 rounds no problem, then gun would not fire at all. Gun actually fired both barrels after first trigger pull did not set off round. Broke open barrel to re- cock and had two spent shells in place, firing pins did not strike after multiple trigger pulls

Nice feel to the gun. But was not reliable after a few shots the top barrel did not fire when selector set for over . But fired on the bottom barrel. Did work again a while later on./ But then the firing pin dropped out of the top and took the gun back in for repair only 3 months old maybe fired 100 rounds altogether. Warranty work?

The gunlooks good except for the plastic forearm. The stock is made of wood but not the forearm. I was getting ready to purschase it when i noticed that the forearm was plastic. I bought the Yildiz SPZ ME 12 Guage instead. it is a al made of beautiful turkish wood andis a overall beautiful looking gun and less expensive compared to the gold wing 512.
