Seems like everyone at the range that shoots the NRA 22LR matches is moving to the Savage line of Mark II''s. Bull barrels are the norm but my daughter loves her G model and the lighter barrel. The wood stocks are better if using a scope due to the higher cheek weld. Smooth action, 10 shots, solid feel, and that trigger is just great. That makes the difference. Ours is the newest version and came with four tapped holes for the scope mount in the receiver. Older versions have a longer receiver and have grooves for the tip-off mounts that aren''t nearly as durable. Savage has their stuff together.
